If a nation fell in love with its executioner
Someone shouted loudly because they thought the stanza was theirs, but it turns out the author has a profile on a website. Even though some journalists have said the stanza was written by Omar Khayyam, it's not true. It's not even a Rubai, and it doesn't follow the Aruz meter or any other syllabic meter.
The 16th of April 2017 was the date of a referendum on a proposed change to the constitution. It is hoped that this date will never be mentioned again, as the proposed change was not accepted.
Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which a person develops a strong emotional bond with their captor, even if the captor is abusive or dangerous.
If a country has put its trust in someone who is causing it harm, pay attention to the warning signs. If the person does not try to stop the harm, they deserve to be shamed.
